At Fast Finish Results our goal is to create an exceptional event day experience for athletes, coaches, and spectators. We take the hassle out of hosting Track, Cross Country, and Road Race Events. Customer service is our game- we work for the meet hosts; not our business profits. Owner/Operator Bob Ertl has previously served as a Collegiate Coach at the University of St. Thomas, Head High School Coach at Lakeville High Schools, and an Athletic Director. This experience allows us to anticipate the needs of meet management.

Bob Ertl
Bob Ertl is the company founder and owner/operator of Fast Finish Results, with over 25 years of timing and event management experience. Taught H.S. and Middle School History for over 30 years. Bob oversees all aspects of the Fast Finish Operation. Bob and wife Sarah reside in Farmington after blending two families with a combined 5 kids.
Charlie Mahler
Charlie Mahler joins our team in late fall after a long career and a wealth of experience in the sport. Charlie ran collegiately at St. John’s and later served as head cross country and track coach at Gustavus Adolphus. He was the founder of the popular track website Down the Backstretch and is now serving as Senior Media and Communications Manager for Twin Cities in Motion.
Steve Mathre
Steve has over 30 years of experience in Track and Field and the timing industry. Steve directs our 2nd crew in Track and works with event logistics. He is the owner and chief product developer of the renowned Eagle Eye Timing System. Additionally, Steve was a 5 time All American Hurdler at St. Olaf College. He placed 2nd in the NCAA DIII Nationals 400m. Hurdles in 1988.
Maddie Ertl
Maddie has worked at Fast Finish results for nearly 20 years. She serves as one of our back up timers, assembles race bibs, and directs our finish line operation. Cheerful and positive with all athletes and coaches. Ran Cross Country and Track at Northfield H.S. Proud mother of two daughters- Mini and Maci (Twin Cats).
Lauren Machacek
Lauren is one of our newest team members. She will be serving as lead timer for our second crew and will utilize her strong knowledge of all field events to direct our Live Field Events. Lauren is also very calm under pressure and will be a great part of the next chapter of Fast Finish Results.
Cory Pfeifer
Cory has joined the Fast Finish Results team after graduating from University of Wisconsin- River Falls and competing four years in both Cross Country and Track. He will work in all aspects of our operation. His attention to detail and love of sports technology will be great assets as Fast Finish Results moves into a third decade of providing outstanding event timing using the latest technology.
Sophie Braziel
Sophie is in her second year as a member of the Fast Finish Team. She is graduate of Augsburg University with a degree in Finance and Accounting. Sophie helps with event preparations and race day logistics. She danced competitively at Lakeville South High School an is now serving an Assistant Dance Coach at her alma mater. Sophie resides in Farmington with Husband Kenndrec and Son Liam.
